So how many of you have had your hormones checked? As I approach my period I am stressed, have anger, and feel crazy. Did you know that you can fix these problems? I used to feel this way all the time and now it is only a few days a month. I had my blood work done and realized they didn't check my hormones. I asked the doctor about it and he said they don't check unless asked to. The sad part is many of women's mental and physical health problems can be fixed with the proper diet, and exercise plan that fits their personal body. I have been doing this for about a year now and it is working. I found out that sugar was my downfall. It can actually effect your hormones and body on a serious level. Not only am I shedding weight but I am able to deal with my emotions and stress! Not saying I never eat sugar...I did say I got my period. I believe I ate enough for a small village these last two days, but I will go right back tomorrow and keep up my healthy life style. You must also live your life and give yourself what you crave sometimes, but that is a blog for another time.
So the point of this blog is HAVE YOUR HORMONES CHECKED! It's clear that estrogen is closely linked with women's emotional well-being. Depression and anxiety affect women in their estrogen-producing years more often than men or postmenopausal women. Estrogen is also linked to mood disruptions that occur only in women -- premenstrual syndrome, premenstrual dysphoric disorder, and postpartum depression.
Exactly how estrogen affects emotion is much less straightforward. Is it too much estrogen? Not enough? It turns out estrogen's emotional effects are nearly as mysterious as moods themselves.
